FAQ’s
Do you offer Medicare rebates? Do I need a referral?
While counsellors aren’t yet eligible for Medicare rebates, I can offer rebates for some health funds depending on your coverage. Counselling prices are usually similar to psychology out-of-pocket fees after the rebate. Eg: A psychologist charging $270 an hour with $90 rebate is still $180. Counsellors often have shorter waiting lists than psychologists and while a mental health plan is helpful, you don’t need a referral from your GP to see a counsellor.
Health Fund Rebates
You can get health fund rebates for counselling services from the following funds:
Emergency Services Health, Teachers Union, Teacher’s Health, Phoenix Health, GMHBA, AIA, Westfund, Mildura Health or St Luke’s Health you can now claim a rebate.
What is the difference between counselling and holistic counselling?
While some forms of counselling are listening to the presenting issues in your life, Holistic Counselling looks at the whole person and all of the elements that make you, you. These include emotional, social, mental, physical, financial, environmental, intellectual, cultural, spiritual, sexual and psychological. We look at you, how you fit into the world and how we can best support and strengthen you.
Together we can acknowledge what is impacting your life right now, further understand your current needs and using holistic techniques, work together on improving, accepting and surrendering to your life.
